Visit Yabgo Fort

A very old fort that was built in the 17th century by the local king for his residence. This place is famous for the name “Yabgo Khar”.The word Yabgo is Raja family & the Khar originated from the local Balti language and means ” House”. The fort was constructed with the use of stone, wood & mud. The labor has been brought from Kashmir & other part of Ladakh. On the door, beautiful flowers are curved by hand.

The human mind will not accept how it is possible to build such an incredible building without the use of technology. The fort has more than 50-60 rooms. The outside of the fort is surrounded by beautiful gardens laden with different fruits.

Nowadays the fort is under the administration of the Agha Foundation & they have recarpeted the whole fort & renewed it.

Chaqchan Mosque

The mosque was built in 1370 century by the Syed Ali Hamdani. According to some sources, this Soufi saint came from Kashmir to Baltistan for the preaching of Islam & made this mosque. This mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Pakistan & every year thousands of local & international tourists come to visit this mosque. The government of Pakistan has added Chaqchan Mosque as a heritage site. The Hole Chaqchal mosque was built by the use of wood. The design of the mosque was a mix of Tibet, Mughal & Persian Style.

Chaqchan Mosque is 5-10 km from main Khaplu Bazar . Chaqchan Mosque & Khaplu Fort are near each other.

Thoksikhar Mosque

If you are fond of hiking then don’t miss the hiking of Thoksikhar mosque. Thoksikhar Mosque is located on the top of the mountain. There is no excess of the road to reach Thoksikhar mosques. All you need to top through hicking. The way to Thoksikhar mosque is very steep & one needs stamina to reach there. Do not forget to water bottle & other necessary items that are carried on hicking.

From the Thoksikhar top, you can view the whole Khaplu. So don’t miss to visit Thoksikhar Mosque.

Saling Sipangtoq

Many tourists are still unaware of this place. Saling Sipatoq is still a mystery for many domestic & international visitors due to a lack of information. The main reason is that the place is far away from the center of Khaplu. It takes 30-40 minutes from the center of Khaplu. In the beginning road was very pathetic & the bridge that connected Khaplu to Saling was made of wood. Only a single car can pass at a time. Now the RCC bridge has been made and the distance has been very shortened from Khaplu to Saling.
