Kharfaq Valley – Kharfaq Lake Khaplu: Top Places in Khaplu [2024]

Kharfaq Valley is located in District Ghanche. This is a small village and its population is around 2000. Kharfaq Lake is located 3 hours away from this village. The lake of Kharfaq is famous for its large Trout Fish population. District headquarters Khaplu is 24 km away from Kharfaq Valley. District Skardu is 86km away from this beautiful valley.

This valley is 4600m above sea level. This is located on the famous Shyok River. Kharfaq Lake is also located in this area, one of the most famous lakes of this region.

Kharfaq Lake

Kharfaq Lake is one of the highest lakes in the Karakoram Mountain range in Gilgit Baltistan. The lake is located on a 3-hour hike and 1.2 miles (2km) away from the village. You can visit this lake in July and August.

The water reached at maximum level in July and gave a full vibe. The snow covers the whole lake in winter and gives beautiful scenery. This lake is only accessible by hike. There is no road to this lake. There are thousands of desi and trout fish in this lake.
